Ticking Timebomb

Well I'm not due for 21 more days, but the odds of me making it that long are slim I think. I accidently got really dehydrated over the weekend which didn't go over well with the baby or my body. I had contractions for 3 hours Monday night and they were every 3-5 minutes, but then they just stopped. When I went to the OB on Wednesday I was at 1.5 cm dilated already. So I'm trying to take it easy and stay pregnant a little while longer. My mom is not flying out til June 12 so that is my new target day. The only good thing about having preterm labor - Will finally put the crib together :)

I have returned

I have been doing 60 to 70 hour workweeks for the last ten months. I survived. Now thankfully I get to work a normal 40 to 50 hour workweek for the next few months. Should be just the vacation I need before jumping back into the fray.

So quick update of what’s new with me. As most of you know Steph and I are expecting a second son to be born with in the next few weeks. I have joined a Pipe and drum band, and am learning to play the Bagpipes. I was surprised at how difficult the instrument is. (after all the darn thing can only play a total of 9 theme notes). Despite its technical difficulty I love playing it. Steph bought me a vest, which I am very excited to be wearing at church again, Steph threw out the three or four that I had been wearing post mission. She does not like the style and objects if I wear it more then every other week, but it is so me. I am growing my beard back out. Last time I had one was shortly after I returned from Australia. Steph does not like this change; in fact I have found it prudent to sleep with a face guard so as she cannot cut it while I sleep. Oh and my hair is full of gray. I earned each and every one of the suckers. Steph has commented that I have way more gray hair then any 31 year old has a right to. I however think it pretty darn cool. I’m confident at this rate that within a few more years I will totally have the Moses thing going on. I am still directing the ward choir. Despite the large number of talented singers we have in the ward I have trouble getting people to commit to weekly rehearsals. I have about seven regulars at the moment including my self and the pianist. Strangely, save for Brazil it is the most fun I have ever had in a choir.

Well I suppose that is plenty for now.

Preschool Graduation

Benjamin is all done with preschool, graduation was on Thursday and we are so proud of our big boy! Our favorite part was the "Snowball Poem" they recited:
I made myself a snowball
Just as perfect as can be
I thought I'd keep it as a pet
And let it sleep with me
I gave it some pajamas
And a pillow for it's head
But last night it ran away
But first it wet the bed!!
He also had to memorize a line for the Alphabet poem

Getting his diploma - it was so funny to watch the kids try to accept the diploma with one hand and shake hands with the teacher with the other hand! Too much coordination required...

Ben liked the blue ribbon best

Ready for Camping

They had camp chairs on sale at Aldi's this week, pretty cheap for the one with a footrest! I made Will try it out when we got home and he thought it was pretty comfy, but Ben thinks the "Daddy Chair" is even more comfortable. We took it to the Ward Picnic today which was smart, seating under the pavillion was limited, and I was able to stay comfortable while the boys went hiking.

Animal Party

I am planning on putting the baby toys in this organizer and doing something else for Ben's toys (probably totes). We've had a talk already about keeping his toys picked up and shutting his door when the baby starts crawling. Can we all say CHOKING HAZARDS!!
We cleaned Ben's room up today and I thought I'd take some pics of his room in the new house. He chose Lightning McQueen for a theme and got big boy bunk beds. He sleeps on bottom, but his many stuffed animals hang out on top. He likes to have "animal parties" where they all play together :) Not always nicely though, usually the Star War figurines or Bionicle guys are beating up the animals!

Baby Belly

Our little boy is quickly running out of room. I am all baby in front like a basketball, and I'm happy I haven't gained as much weight this time as I did with Ben. I can't imagine growing anymore in the next six weeks. If you think I look small in this picture it's only because there are no normal sized people standing next to me! Benjamin was 9 lbs, 2 oz. so I'm hoping this baby boy is a little smaller!
